About Me

As you probably know, I'm Emma Robinson. I’m 20 years old and study Media Studies at the University of Portsmouth, currently in my second year.

I originally come from Rochester in Kent, (the garden of England apparently), which is dangerously close to a town called Chatham – where rumour has it that ‘Chavs’ originated from. Great, huh? Thankfully I was spared from Burberry caps and frighteningly large gold clown necklaces, opting for guitars and good music instead.

Having such an interest in music, I've always wanted to pursue a career in the industry, although I unfortunately can't sing like Laura Marling, or play guitar like her either. So after completing a Music Journalism unit at University, I decided to write about music instead. Since then I've maintained this blog, reveiwing new album and single releases each week as well as writing for www.rhythmcircus.co.uk, a website focusing on music, games, film and fashion. More recently I have began to conduct interviews and write live reviews, covering various events in Portsmouth.

I hope to work as a music journalist or at least something similar in the future and am looking to pursue an internship with a music magazine when I graduate from University in two years time.
